gehayi: (writing it down (ravemasta))
Name: Gehayi works. I don't like my real name. At all.
Fandoms: I tend to focus more on book fandoms because they're accessible in a way that TV shows and movies are not. They're also cheaper. Right now I'm into Discworld, Dresden Files bookverse, Dresden Files TV-verse and Shakespeare. I have been into Harry Potter and Highlander, but I'm not anymore. And there are a lot of things I like that don't really seem to HAVE a fandom--fairy tales, for example--or where there's a fandom but I'm not really part of it, I just read the occasional story, as in Chronicles of Narnia or The Dark is Rising. Oh, and I've just started geting into the Cal Leandros books.
How many years you've been doing Yuletide: This is my second non-consecutive year doing Yuletide.
Your fic: I wrote eight fics for Yuletide this year. They are: A Clovis Christmas (Short Stories - Saki); The Alot, the Tuit, Mrs. Gradgrind, Sophie and Me, Allie (Hyperbole and a Half); The Lai of Bisclavret's Wife (Bisclavret - Marie de France); Shadows of Desert Birds (Richard II - Shakespeare); Rosemary for Remembrance (Hamlet - Shakespeare); With a Cunning Hand (Twelfth Night - Shakespeare); A Dance in Iron Shoes (Fairy Tales and Related Fandoms); Sweeping Ashes into the Sea (Frankenstein - Mary Shelley).
DW or LJ?: I have an LJ and I have a Dreamwidth account. The name is the same in both places. I barely use Twitter, and I've never heard of Plurk.
Journaling habits: A little bit of everything. The posts are about 97% public, with a small percentage of posts that are just for me and no one else. I'm more inclined to be active over on LJ, because people I know tend to respond over on LJ. Here on DW, not so much.

Anything else?: Yuletide was fantastic. I enjoyed being able to give things to people for Christmas, as I wouldn't have been able to give anything without the ficathon, and I certainly wouldn't have received much, either. So thank you. Yuletide WAS my Christmas.

Fandoms: Ookiku Furikabutte, K-On!, Natsume Yuujinchou, Otome Youkai Zakuro, Major, Princess Nine, Antique Bakery, Kimi ni Todoke, Ouran, Lovely Complex, ummm... a zillion other anime/manga ones I'm forgetting. Also I love stuff like Diana Wynne Jones, the Kate & Cecy books, & Young Wizards. And I would like to build up a fandom for Hiromi Goto's amazing YA novel Half World, for which there is not yet any fic (but there should be! I requested it for YT & have hopes for a NYR story, maybe?).

How many years you've been doing Yuletide: This was my first.

Your fic: I wrote 3 for Yuletide: The End of the Beginning & The Ex-Catchers Club (both Major) & Low to High Like June to July (K-On!).

DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): I crosspost from DW to LJ & do read on LJ but am not adding new people to my LJ friends list right now.

Journaling habits: Oscillates between fannish things & personal stuff, often with a political/social justice-oriented perspective on both. I do post a fair amount of stuff access-locked.

Other interests: Street fashion blogs, daily photo blogs, sustainability/reducing consumption (& the tension between that & oooh-sparkleness of fashion, especially the whole "buy handmade" thing), vegan cooking & baking, container gardening, DDR, tattoos, genderqueerness, language learning...

Anything else?: I'm a US American living in the UK & wishing she could move back home, or at least to London. I have 3 cats & a partner. I wouldn't have started writing fic w/o comment fic & 750 Words. I co-mod [community profile] writethisfanfic, which aims to help anyone (newbies or not) getting fanfic finished. Oh, & I also started [community profile] baseball_animanga, which comprises a whole bunch of small fandoms all together!

Fandoms: oh my god. Um, right now I'd say my main ones would be Sherlock, The Losers, and a dose of Star Trek (STXI, but TOS was my primary home and I dabble pretty evenly in it as well as some Enterprise and TNG) but I'm multifannish so one day it might be Trek, the next the Losers or Castle, or Nancy Drew...the fic tends to cross all lines. I expect a resurgence of luff once I crack open my Fringe and EFC (s1!) dvds.

How many years you've been doing Yuletide: Let's see, I started fandom_stocking four years ago, so that means, five? six years?
Your fic: This year's Yuletide stories are with most of my newer fic on AO3 here

The Yuletide stuff consists of Like a Fairytale With Combat Boots - The Losers (Cougar/Jensen, multiple POV), Damocles - Aliens (Ripley/Hicks), Blind Spot - Push (Cassie/Nick), Any Other Night - Batman: The Animated Series (Renee Montoya/Summer Gleeson)

DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): Both DW and LJ under the same name. I mostly cross post from DW to LJ and am active on both

Journaling habits: See above. It's a mix of fandom, RL, fic and such and sundry if you're looking for specific content.

Other interests: Good god. A little bit of everything! It's so hard to pin that one down. I read voraciously, watch a rather broad section of tv, geek out about politics (warning: Canadian here *G*)

Anything else?: um, I've learned to hate this question because my brain always goes blank?

Name: Alice

Fandoms: Doctor Who, Neverwhere, Alice in Wonderland (book and movies), Demon's Lexicon, Beauty and the Beast, White Collar, Sherlock, Leverage, and about a million other things I'll remember as soon as I've posted this. My nostalgia fandom is HP, and sometimes I drift back into it all lurker-like.

How many years you've been doing Yuletide: 2!

Your fic: One of Many Circles (http://archiveofourown.org/works/141314) (13 Ways of Looking at a Blackbird) and A Lesson in Uselessness (http://archiveofourown.org/works/144292) (Alice in Wonderland / Beauty and the Beast).

DW or LJ?: lj

Journaling habits: Lots of fannishness (particularly, lots of going on about YA fantasy novels which I dearly wish had fandoms), a fair amount of RL stuff. I feel like lately I've been talking about RL only when it's making me cranky, which possibly gives the impression that I'm a curmudgeon. I promise I'm not a curmudgeon!

Other interests: mediaeval history, creepy Victorian lit, fairy tales, drawing, music (currently my soul has been stolen by Regina Spektor), books by Robin McKinley.

Anything else?: I'm eating a chocolate chip cookie rn, and it is delicious.

Name: Pseud is Epigone, but mostly I'm just Leigh. :)
Fandoms: The ongoing ones are Sports Night, Slings and Arrows, and M*A*S*H, but I've also written multiple stories in Oz, Supernatural, and Band of Brothers. And a lot of one-offs in other fandoms, especially novel-, theater-, and film-based ones.
How many years you've been doing Yuletide: My first Yuletide was in 2003, but I've only done it three years so far-- 2003, 2004, and 2010.
Your fic: "A Piece of the Continent" (Ursula K. Le Guin's Hainish cycle, specifically The Left Hand of Darkness).
DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): Currently, predominantly LJ, where I am/was at [livejournal.com profile] gamesiplay/[livejournal.com profile] likethesun2. When things in my life are a little calmer, I'd like to consolidate everything--particularly fannish stuff--here on DW at [personal profile] alreadythere.
Journaling habits: ...it's complicated? Basically, I've been distracted from fandom for the past year and a half, two years, up until which point I used likethesun2 for my fannish stuff. My personal, friends-locked journal is gamesiplay. Ultimately, both should be mirrored here at alreadythere.
Other interests: poetry, drama, literary criticism, academia, animals, college basketball, musical theater, psychology, war fiction, queer studies.
Anything else?: I miss fandom! And Yuletide this year was so great that it brought that home for me.

DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): Both! Under the same name.

Fandoms: Doctor Who, Fringe, Sherlock, Star Trek, Wire in the Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, Cabin Pressure, X-Files, and a number of others that I follow more casually.

How many years you've been doing Yuletide: two.

Your fic: This year I wrote for Boardwalk Empire and Wire in the Blood. Those fics and others are on my AO3 account: http://archiveofourown.org/users/Foxtoast (html links don't seem to work on DW :/)

DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): LJ only (clarice)

Journaling habits: some real life, some chatter about TV/movies, some fandom.

Other interests: books, sewing, history, radio, this and that.

Anything else?: Probably not?

Oooh, haven't done one of these before...

Fandoms: Tons of them - mostly slash. I've written this year in Hot Fuzz,The IT Crowd, The Big Bang Theory, LOTR RPF, South Park RPF, Star Trek: TNG, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Imagination Movers, Fanboys, Boy Meets World, NetherBeast Incorporated (Which I may be the only fan for ever. Hah). Tend to flit around Pegg/Frost RPF (and all their related stuff, really), Whose Line, LOTR. Mostly small fandom stuff anymore, but sometimes something bigger takes my interest - I'm being told I'll be a fan of Sherlock before the month is out. I'll read just about anything that takes my fancy, though.
How many years you've been doing Yuletide: First time writer, long time reader.
Your fic: "Wild Drunken Sexy Time" (The IT Crowd, Explicit OT3) & "Lets Do It" (Boy Meets World, non-explicit shippy Cory/Shawn)
DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): Long term LJ user. afullmargin. I have a DW and other such things, but all I ever really use is my LJ.
Journaling habits: Random, bitchy, sometimes spammy. I have a separate fic only journal for those that don't enjoy my babbling but want a flist version of my fic.
Other interests: I'm pretty eclectic and random, I've been in fandom (usually slash side, but I do branch out from time to time) for almost 15 years now and have found enjoyment in most things fannish and non.
Anything else?: Always interested in new friends with rare fandom interests!

sineala: Brian (from Velvet Goldmine) with long hair, singing into a microphone (VG: Brian singing Sebastian)
Name: Sineala

Fandoms: Oh. Um. Lots. My current major big fandoms are probably The Professionals, Star Trek (TOS and AOS, though I have a soft spot for TNG), and Sherlock Holmes (ACD canon is my favorite, but I like the reboot too). Other than that, if you name a Western media fandom I probably have been in it or at least have read all the good fic. I have a weakness for SF/F and/or slashy buddy-cops. TS, dS, B5, new BSG, a bit of HL, HP, S&H and the Whedonverse fandoms are the big ones. Also, lemme think, Young Wizards (and everything else Diane Duane has ever written ever ever ever, especially the Rihannsu-verse), Psych, Inspector Lewis, Donald Strachey, the Phoenix Wright games, Rome (where is the Rome fandom?) and probably many more I am forgetting. Just yesterday I read the Doctrine of Labyrinths series for the first time and wow, that really deserves a fandom. *obsesses quietly to self, rereads Monette's Shadow Unit stories instead*

How many years you've been doing Yuletide: Three!

Your fic: This year it's One Hundred Heads (Psion), One True Way (Valdemar), and Being an Account of a Journey to the strange new California Republic (and a most peculiar Hotel therein) (Hotel California/Echo Bazaar). Maybe I should have been a little more terse naming that one.

DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): Both! (Same username.) Friend me on either! I like friends! I also have a Twitter, but I use that mostly for Echo Bazaar, so I wouldn't recommend friending me there unless you just want EBZ spam.

Journaling habits: Some RL stuff, some fannish. The RL stuff is locked. The fannish stuff is blither about fandom, the occasional episode review, the occasional story, and so on.

Other interests: Languages and linguistics, about which I occasionally geek out. My girlfriend [livejournal.com profile] lysimache is teaching me Latin, so there are posts where I mock Ovid and also plot fiendishly elaborate Ancient Rome AUs. Also video games! I don't have many friends who are into the fandoms, so I'm kind of a feral fan there, but I like Phoenix Wright and Final Fantasy and especially all the SMT and Persona games and every Vagrant Story fic I've ever read (but sadly VS the game is too hard for me). Also I am teaching myself to knit (badly) on knitting looms. And I love my e-book reader (a Kindle) more than is probably healthy, so if you want to friend someone who says "squee, look what you can read on Kindle now! The Catch Trap!" every so often that person is probably me.

Anything else?: I think that's about it. :)

Fandoms: Oh, man...I've mostly just written in Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and Tolkien fandoms, but I'm in dozens of others too, at varying levels. I don't know, just look at my LJ or Tumblr, I guess.
How many years you've been doing Yuletide: This is my first.
Your fic: what we have is enough, a Baldur's Gate fic with one real comment. :(
DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): I have an account here that I don't really use except for commenting sometimes; I'm [livejournal.com profile] lady_moriel at LJ, 100_indecisions on Twitter, and visions-and-revisions at Tumblr. Also I have [livejournal.com profile] theturningworld, my writing/fanmix journal on LJ.
Journaling habits: Well...I've got a paid subscription on LJ because SHINY ICONS but I rarely update...I post to Twitter pretty often, because duh, it's super short...I dunno.
Other interests: Reading, writing, photography, languages, folklore, meta...buying way too many things I don't need like awesome t-shirts and, uh, dolls and action figures (I am a giant geek and proud of it, okay)
Anything else?: I'm a grad student and TA, which means that this coming semester I'm going to be insanely busy with classes, thesis, and teaching. I also have not learned good time-management skillz in four years of college and 1.5 years of grad school.

Fandoms: Uh, I don't really have a main fandom in terms of writing/reading fic and other fannish activity. I'm more of a "fandom is my fandom" type of person and I write and read in a wide variety of fandoms (I also post about books, manga, and TV shows I am into).

In terms of Yuletide fandoms, I noticed a few years ago that all the Yuletide fics I'd written (assigned, pinch hits, treats, and NYRs) were all in different fandoms, and also were all fandoms I'd written for the first time in Yuletide, so now that's kind of my thing and I purposely avoid writing anything I've written before.

How many years you've been doing Yuletide: Uh... *looks at fics* Seven. Wow. My first Yuletide was 2004, which was the second-ever Yuletide.

Your fic: This year I wrote Halfway from Coal, Halfway to Diamond (HanaKimi), Not an Addict (Maybe That's a Lie) (K-On!), and You're My Best Friend (And I Love You) (Huge). All my fic is up on AO3 as well.

DW or LJ? I prefer DW, though I also mirror my journal on LJ (comments closed) and maintain a small flist there. I am also on Tumblr as nowisgreater, where I talk mostly about transgender stuff as well as other social justice stuff.

Journaling habits: I do "daily happiness" posts to try and focus on good things as well as a daily song rec. I also post a lot of linkspams lately, mostly social justice-related, but also random stuff and fanart, whatever. I also review all the fanfic, books, and manga I read. Occasional fanfic posts (less often than I'd like). Other random stuff. Oh, scanlations and stuff, too.

Other interests: Um, there's a list in my profile, but that doesn't really tell you much. Claymore is the most recent thing I've fallen in love with, though I also just started watching Battlestar Galactica and am really liking that.

Anything else?: I am always interested in new friends on DW, less so on LJ, because I am trying to move away from there and really only reading the few people still left on my flist who haven't moved to DW.

Fandoms: Lots! My loudest at the moment is Warehouse 13, though I still have ties to Good Omens, Sneakers, Iron Man (movieverse) and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. I used to be in Daria fandom waaaaaay back in the day, I'm the one-woman Villains By Necessity fandom (feels like, anyway), and occasionally I dip my toes in the Potterverse (mostly to write epic crossovers that are actually be sorting out my Issues with canon). Also, I was sort of the go-to Percy Jackson beta-reader this year, but I haven't really been fannish with those as of yet.
How many years you've been doing Yuletide: This was my third.
Your fic: Illumination (HG Wells backstory) and Strange Attractors (Artifact hijinks where I went to college), both Warehouse 13.
DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): Mainly LJ, same name as this. I have both, but I never use the DW except for random comments.
Journaling habits: ahahaha sparse, lately. I'm trying to get better about that, but I don't feel like I have much to say lately. I rarely lock things, though, and when I do post it's mostly writing-based memes and fannish things.
Other interests: Writing (I have a novel in progress and a world in search of a plot), reading, music, RPing (mostly LJ, but I've done some tabletop before).

DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): DW | LJ
Journaling habits: I'm mostly a fandom journaler who natters about TV, occasionally posts things about family, fic, life, or other such things. Most of the more personal things are kept under a flock or a filter. Formerly very sporadic posting-wise, but I've been trying to post more often lately.
Other interests: Horses, moving (since I will be soon), gadets, writing, etc.
Anything else?: Nothing comes to mind!

Fandoms: Mainly Inception right now, but I sometimes read Merlin, HP, Sherlock Holmes, House, West Wing, White Collar, Leverage even though I haven't gotten around to watching it yet, and Glee even though the canon makes me want to throw things. I'll read a lot of things whose canons I don't really know, actually.

How many years you've been doing Yuletide: This was my second year. And I'm very much looking forward to the third!

Your fic: Steps and Stairs (All-of-a-Kind Family) http://archiveofourown.org/works/141983

DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): scissorphishe on both DW and LJ

Journaling habits: I have some of my fic on my LJ, just my Yuletide letter so far on my DW (it's new). If people friend me I'll probably post more, mainly about fannish things, maybe sometimes political things, but I'm not a prolific fic writer and so far am not in the habit of posting anything regularly. I really enjoy fannish community, though.

Other interests: Politics and social justice, especially queer- and gender-related, and languages and linguistics.

Anything else?: I have no friends yet! You can pop my DW cherry! (And then we can have rambling conversations about how virginity is a social construct and anyway what is the origin of the expression "to pop someone's cherry"?)

Fandoms: Um, lots. Doctor Who's the main one, but also The Thick of It, the Dresden Files books, Discworld, DS9 and a lot of other older sci-fi shows, a lot of webcomics. More books that I wish had giant fandoms (like Barry Hughart's Number Ten Ox and Master Li, or Journey to the West).

How many years you've been doing Yuletide: This was my first year!

Your fic: I wrote 11 fics for yuletide this year, for the Gallifrey audios, Hark! A Vagrant, Dinosaur Comics, Girl Genius, The Kingmaker audio, Tintin, Journey to the West, Lackadaisy, Brick, Late Late Show RPF, and The Thick of It. And because that list was already really long, I'm just linking you to my reveal letter at neveralarch.livejournal.com/12739.html for the titles etc.

DW or LJ? (Or Twitter, or Plurk, or...): Just LJ! But more because I haven't got around to tracking down a DW invite than because of any personal convictions.

Journaling habits: I mostly post fanwork (fics and some art), and talk some about writing. Sometimes I babble about shows or books, and (very rarely) I talk about life things.

Other interests: I'm at school currently for Psychology, Political Science, and German - I'm going to Germany in a couple months, so there'll probably be some talk about that. Otherwise, hm. History, philosophy, and fencing!

Anything else?: I dunno! I probably forgot some things, haha.

How many years you've been doing Yuletide: 3.

Your fic: In general all my stuff is up on AO3. I wrote 7 stories for yuletide, though.

You'll Need All Those Fingers For Crossing (Newsflesh/Feed, gen)

You Held Your Head Like a Hero (Party Animals, gen)
Here Be Cartographers (Party Animals, Ashika/Scott)

DW or LJ?: DW is good, my lj is [livejournal.com profile] snowishness

Journaling habits: I crosspost everything from DW to LJ, LJ is flocked, DW isn't. I'm kind of sporadic, as you can probably see.

Other interests: Wacky AUs. 3 of my fics this year were those, and they were lots of fun to do.

Anything else?: I'm also an aerospace engineering student, so I tend to disappear into classwork for periods of time and resurface later muttering about how I did something cool. (For instance: at the end of last semester we shot a bullet at Mach 2.28 and took pictures (as well as pressure readings, but the pictures were cooler).) I tend not to post a whole lot, but when I do I can blather lots.
