*FALLS DRAMATICALLY IN SLOW MOTION*
The adorable Wall-E tissue box that I'd been saving and refilling for two years got thrown away! It would have been so cute in my new apartment, sob. Sob sob. D:
Okay, onto less dramatic matters. (D:)
- Just a reminder that drabble requests are open! Fandom, original, whichever. ♥
- All right, Namco Bandai. I'm giving you until next year to announce that you're going to release the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia in the US, or I'm going to go to eBay and buy a Japanese copy off some fanboy. Hopefully by then the price will be below $50. ;; I wish there was a way to get a hold of an XBox360 just to play this game!
- Speaking of which, I'd love some PS3 game recs for when I have money. ♥
- Moving in a little less than two weeks! I'll be on the road on the 18th. My first month's rent is paid, furniture has been scouted, and I have an appointment with the Comcast people to come set up my internet that Saturday. You know what would go with all this preparedness? Official word from the embassy that my background check cleared. orz. I know they told me that I had the job and we worked out my start date and everything, but I'm paranoid, okay.
- Looking around my room for things to bring to the apartment is a bit like spelunking. I forgot about all that incense I had! Sadly, the burner is nowhere to be found. I'll have to get myself to some new-agey shop and get a new one.
... my sweet innocent Wall-E, noooooooooo

Date: 2010-08-08 07:53 pm (UTC)From:Assassin's Creed II is tons of fun. You get to parkour around Renaissance Italy, stealthily blend into crowds, and hug Leonardo daVinci. My favorite PS3 game by far. It is a "kill people" game, but not a "kill indiscriminately" game, so I was okay with the violence.
Prince of Persia 2008 is gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous and very fun to boot. The art style is reminiscent of Okami and the platforming is actually very fun, and this is from someone with bad depth perception. I've literally spent hours just jumping through some of the cleared levels. Best part: no hp bar. You literally can not die in this game. Even if you get beaten up by the enemy and thrown off a cliff, you will not die. It's very relaxing.
Secondary recs:
Devil May Cry 4 is lots of fun
Bayonetta is very much like DMC4 only with an amazing female protag and really annoying quicktime events
Folklore is gorgeous and is kind of like supernatural Pokemon
Final Fantasy XIII shut up I really liked this game. It's like what would happen if you mixed a standard FF game with a "Tales of" game

Date: 2010-08-11 08:34 pm (UTC)From:Of the other PS3 games I've played, Disgaea3 was exactly what you'd expect for a Disgaea game, and Crossedge wasn't as funny as it thought it was.
How are you enjoying FFXIII? It's a pretty polarizing game, so I'd like to know your opinion on it.

As for PS3 recs--most of them were already covered, but Heavy Rain (of course), and I'm told Little Big Planet 2 is going to be cool when it comes out. Oh, and Dead Space if you want the creepy factor.
