Okay Mochizuki I apologize for saying that you (not counting the amazing Ada-Vincent scene) were a bit too crazy/depressing for me lately. I TAKE IT ALL BACK BECAUSE CHAPTER 47 IS THE CUTEST THING EVER.

Things that made my day forever:

♥ Gil's fussing and GIANT LOVESICK EYES and copious amounts of touching, I was getting sick of all the brooding.

♥ Alice sexually harrassing Eliot omg.

♥ TEA PARTY.

♥ Eliot and Oz and their adorable pseudo-fistbump thing. (I love their relationship in general these days. "I WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!")

♥ ECHO. IT'S ECHO. YAY.

♥ Oscar and tiny Oz just sort of melts me forever. And Oz's little freakout and Oscar's gigantic full body SQUISH and "You're my precious son" and ashfkd oh my gosh you two socuuuuute.

♥ THE PICTURE AHHHHH. (I am especially fond of Break's "MmmHMMMM" face.) I have been missing the nakama so very much lately.

Okay that concludes your PH gushing for the evening *A*

EDIT: I lied, I have more. This was generally a really good entry in the ongoing New and Improved Oz Vessalius saga. The past few chapters have definitely shown him making headway on his issues: losing his composure from time to time ("I WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH YOUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!") and even coming clean with Gil immediately after the Sabrie chapters.

This chapter showed that he still has that tendency to misinterpret positive intentions, especially the ones directed at him. (And that's why I hate the "Gil has residual guilt from Jack/was brainwashed" plotline! Oz has trouble acknowledging that he's worth something on a good day.) And I loved how Mochizuki uses this to explore the Oz-Oscar relationship a bit more.

Not discussing unpleasantries seems to be a Vessalius family trait - Oscar doesn't talk about what Zai has done to Oz, and Oz never brings up Oscar's late wife - but they these things in completely different directions. Judging by his reaction to the camera, Oz believes that he somehow highlights the lack of an immediate family in Oscar's life, which explains some of the reservedness he shows on occasion. But when Oscar thinks about Zai, as he did at the beginning of the chapter, it only makes him want to make Oz that much happier.

And the reason I love that scene so much at the end of the chapter is because Oscar pretty much acknowledges Oz's concerns and happily brushes them off. "It's not a problem." ♥ And in a manga where a lot of blood relatives absolutely suck, that's a pretty awesome thing. ♥
