I AM ON LJ AT WORK. GASP. That should tell you how quiet it is around here.

But anyway. Let's have some writing fun, shall we?

If you're reading this post, leave a prompt - it can be as specific or vague as you like. I will choose at least one and write a little Halloween story! ♥

Thanks for all your kind words, guys. ♥ I'll reply to your comments individually when I return.

Which brings me to the point of this post! I will be leaving appallingly early tomorrow morning to go to D.C and meet my potential employers/check out my potential apartment! I'll be there until Saturday night. I will most likely have regular access to internet, but I'll be scarce.

I should, however, have a lot of downtime, and I'm looking to do some writing type things that are fun and will make me feel a little better about things in general. So I thought I'd open one of these up again, since it's been a while!

Name one or more of my original characters and a prompt, and I will write a drabble. It can be from any of my original fics, or any cowriting projects. ♥ Go crazy!

Okay, time to attempt sleep again. See you guys later!

So, commencement happened. It was sort of traumatically long and busy, and our commencement speaker drew protesters that I had to walk past on the way to the auditorium. (One of them told me, "Congratulations!" which I thought was pretty hilarious.)

But there were a lot of good things: we marched in to "Jai Ho" instead of "Pomp and Circumstance," there was a techno remix of the Horah at one point, and honorary degree recipient Paul Simon played a gorgeous version of "The Boxer" for us. ♥ And all the wonderful support I received wasn't too shabby, either.

So I am now the owner of a B.A in East Asian Studies, Cum Laude, with minors in Creative Writing, English, and Anglo-American Literature. Well, in theory - my actual degree is coming in the mail in a few weeks. I have an empty folder with a note. But it's the thought that counts.

Hello, rest of life. I will have to figure out what I want from you now.

But I have a little while to relax, so first order of business: write! Write lots! And what better way to get started than with an Original Fiction Drabble-thon! To those of you who want to play with some original fic - or even just give prompts - come on over and play!

It's spring break! And I have decided that it shall be a spring break for WRITING. I can't let my less-than-stellar RL luck put a damper on fun fantasy times.

Here's what I'd like to play around with:

1. Cowriting projects that I've been too stressed to contribute to lately
2. Finish that last chapter of Imperial Guard book 1 so I can set it aside for a bit to let stew, and then retool. (Poor Imperial Guard. It goes through so many iterations.)
3. And most importantly, START NEW THINGS. :D

That's where I need your help. I feel like shopping around a little bit, playing with as many new things as possible. I wrote a page of The Hungry Ground earlier, and I've got some other potential projects: Possession is Nine-Tenths of the Law, a YA paranormal/urban fantasy set in Tokyo, and that middle-grade Stranger Than Fiction-esque project I've played around with before. But I want to take a few more things for a test drive to see what grabs me the most at the moment.

There's a certain prompt that I've had a lot of success with - it started both Catalyst and Grandmaster Draw, so I want to give it a go again. Could you guys comment with two different adjectives? I'll try writing a scene with two characters that those adjectives fit, and I'll see where that leads. :D

The Third Original Fiction Drabble-thon has officially begun!

Come play with us! Get started early on your resolution to write more! I've already started us off with a round of prompts, and can't wait to see what you guys come up with. ♥ And don't forget to pimp it to your friends!

And if you're new, don't worry! The list of rules is included in the post, and I'll be happy to answer any questions.
