Ack! So sorry, guys - I forgot to crosspost. The Sixth Original Fiction Drabble-thon is underway!

Do come play with us, and bring your friends!

So! Would anyone be interested in a round of the Original Fiction Drabble-thon?

I know I really need it! I'm feeling pretty stuck lately. I did a bit of writing last weekend, but for the most part, I have a lot of half-formed ideas but I can't pin them down. The last round sort of fizzled out, but if you guys are game, I'd love to give it another go!

(For those of you who are new, the Original Fiction Drabble-thon is a prompt tree-style, hopefully low stress opportunity to play around with original fic ideas. Click on the tag to see previous rounds!)

Good morning, everyone! It's a beautiful day! The sun is shining! I have a long weekend to recover from my week of hell! I'm going to go shopping, make delicious foods, and watch me some due South.

But most importantly? I'm going to WRITE. :D

And so are all of you! Because guess what? The Fifth Original Fiction Drabble-thon is underway!

Have at it! ♥

OOF. Last week really knocked me on my ass - ten hours of sleep and I still feel dead. Unfortunately, it won't get much better, since I'll be doing the work of two assistants until my "partner" assistant of sorts returns from vacation on the 14th, but at the very least, my bosses will be occupied with the delegation until Wednesday.

Anyway! Like many of you, I signed up for Original Fic Bingo. Here's my card:

Mah card, ladies and gents )

So I'm seeing a lot of you saying "I need inspiration" or "I need to warm up." Now, if only there was a convenient way we could all do that together?

Anybody up for a shiny new Original Fiction Drabble-thon?

So you know how I came home all gung-ho and all ready to write and mess around and have fun and all those other things you do on vacation?

I got sick immediately and have spent most of the week too braindead to do much of anything. H-Hahaha orz. Thankfully I got antibiotics somehow, despite the doctor once again making a huge effing deal out of the fact that I get nervous in medical settings. IT IS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN TALK ME OUT OF, GUYS. I CANNOT TALK MYSELF OUT OF IT. Just let me lie down for two seconds and it will be all good.

I am finally starting to feel a bit better, though, so tomorrow I plan on catching up on comments/links for the Original Fiction Drabble-thon, and I want to throw in a couple more fics myself. We've got tons of awesome prompts over there, so if you want to play, come on over. ♥

I haven't had the energy to do much else except watch a lot of things. I watched the first season of LOST again, which: DANGEROUS. I stopped watching in season three, and I have been spoiled to hell and back and know that the way to the finale is paved with heartbreak and tears and frustration. But. Sayid! Sun-Hwa motherfucking Kwon (and Jin as well, naturally)! Rousseau! And I haven't even gotten to Ben Linus. Gahhh must stop before it's too late.

I have also started watching Justified, the new modern Western on FX. Westerns are so not my thing, but I really enjoy it! Possibly because I find the protagonist really very hot. Seriously. UNF.

Which got me thinking about the meme that was going around a long time ago where people talked about the fictional characters they found most attractive. Out of curiosity, who are yours? I'll give you my Top Ten once I have the brainpower to do picspam.

Hope your summer is off to a good start. ♥

So, commencement happened. It was sort of traumatically long and busy, and our commencement speaker drew protesters that I had to walk past on the way to the auditorium. (One of them told me, "Congratulations!" which I thought was pretty hilarious.)

But there were a lot of good things: we marched in to "Jai Ho" instead of "Pomp and Circumstance," there was a techno remix of the Horah at one point, and honorary degree recipient Paul Simon played a gorgeous version of "The Boxer" for us. ♥ And all the wonderful support I received wasn't too shabby, either.

So I am now the owner of a B.A in East Asian Studies, Cum Laude, with minors in Creative Writing, English, and Anglo-American Literature. Well, in theory - my actual degree is coming in the mail in a few weeks. I have an empty folder with a note. But it's the thought that counts.

Hello, rest of life. I will have to figure out what I want from you now.

But I have a little while to relax, so first order of business: write! Write lots! And what better way to get started than with an Original Fiction Drabble-thon! To those of you who want to play with some original fic - or even just give prompts - come on over and play!

I went to Vermont over the weekend and had a lovely time! And I have lots of cheese to show for it. Mmmmmmm.

I will be on campus for another week or so - graduation is on Sunday - and I will still be rather scarce for a while as I say goodbye to my friends. But I wanted to share my good news! I ended my undergrad run with my first all A semester at Brandeis, and it was enough to push me over the line to graduate cum laude! I didn't actually think it was possible, because my Creative Writing and study abroad grades don't count towards my GPA, so my lower science/math grades counted for a lot more. (That's what I get for taking Behavioral Neuroscience instead of Computer Science, h-haha.) But I did it somehow! I'm very happy. ♥

Also, a week from tomorrow, May 26th, I will be holding the Fourth Original Fiction Drabble-thon! Prepare yourselves!
